            The visual arts career I am interested in is Graphic design. I am interested in this career because I like computers and it seems very fun and interesting. The Graphic design program is offered at Rhode Island school of design. The pros of going to this school is that it is considered the best visual arts school in the country. The graphic design department at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) offers several degree programs: a four-year undergraduate BFA degree, a two year MFA degree, and a three-year MFA degree. At RISD scholarships are awarded based on a combination of financial need and academic merit. RISD also offers several scholarships each year to freshmen who show outstanding academic and artistic achievement but do not necessarily demonstrate need. Two awards of at least $10,000 are made to students competing in the “National Young Arts” Foundation. To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must enter the Young Arts or Scholastics competitions. The average income for people who specialize in graphic design is 47,000 to 61,000. An interesting fact about RISD is that it was founded in 1877 making it one of the oldest and best-known colleges of art and design in the US.
